Alayna Woolsey

FortuneBuilders Gives is coming together to support Alayna Woolsey and her sudden diagnosis of Pre B Cell ALL Leukemia. We hope that our community will read this and provide support for her and her family through such a difficult time.

Alayna Woolsey was born December 7th 2009 and just recently turned 4 years old. She is the daughter of Jeff and Jackie Woolsey and the little sister of Jaxon who is 7. Alayna attends Pre-K at Kids Country in Benton, Illinois.

On December 5th Alayna started to feel ill, she had a fever during the night and she was extremely tired. On December 11th Jackie took Alayna to their family doctor because she was still having high fevers and her skin was turning very pale. That very evening the family doctor called and sent Alayna to Herrin Hospital in Illinois. While at Herrin Hospital Alayna became even sicker. Herrin Hospital doctors decided to send Alayna by ambulance to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.  On December 12th the Woolsey family found out that Alayna had Pre B Cell ALL Leukemia. The next morning Alayna underwent surgery to put her port in, and chemo was started that very day. Alayna was hospitalized until the 20th of December. Although she now has to travel two hours to Saint Louis for treatments on Fridays, she remains in good spirits and is responding well to treatment.

On January 10th Alayna will receive a spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy to see if her cancer cells are gone. This will determine the next step in this journey. Everyone in the small town of Thompsonville, Illinois has come together to support this family through this very hard time.
