FortuneBuilders Bootcamp Fundraiser with Habitat for Humanity

FortuneBuilders Bootcamp Fundraiser with Habitat for Humanity

This February we hosted our Marketing and Wholesaling Bootcamp with speaker Than Merrill teaching over 200 mastery students at a 4-day intensive workshop. This year our goal is to partner with a national charity at each of our bootcamps to raise funds and bring awareness for their cause.

At the Marketing and Wholesaling Bootcamp we partnered with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is an international organization dedicated to providing decent, safe and affordable housing to families in need. Habitat for Humanity is funded and homes are built and renovated entirely by donations and volunteers. FortuneBuilders has participated in two company sponsored build days with over a dozen volunteers at each event and we are proud to support Habitat’s cause.

In order to promote our fundraiser and bring awareness to Habitat for Humanity, we created a friendly competition that educated students and helped raised funds at the same time. On the second day of the bootcamp we gave students the opportunity to participate in a Facebook “like” competition. Students were asked to post a message, image or video on our Facebook wall and then try to generate as many “likes” to their post. The person who generated the most likes was crowned the winner and presented with the coveted “Shameless Marketer” trophy and a Kindle Fire.

The winner generated 248 likes. His winning post was the basis used to establish the donation. Participants could choose how much money they wanted to donate for each like. FortuneBuilders pledged $5 per like, with 248 likes, FortuneBuilders donated $1240. Dozens of students made donations and we raised over $5000 for Habitat for Humanity. It was a successful collaboration with a great humanitarian organization and we even inspired some students to get involved with Habitat for Humanity in their own communities!
