Fortune Builders Moments

Habitat for Humanity Build Day
By Megan Thompson on Sep 12, 2019

FortuneBuilders volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on July 23rd, 2019! We spent the day beautifying the Logan Heights community in our home base San Diego. Our seventeen brave volunteers climbed scaffolding and balanced on roofs to paint the exterior and interior of a townhome complex. We not only donated our time but we also donated financially, which helped fund all of the supplies, supervision and the project managers on site.

Habitat for Humanity is an International non-profit that brings volunteers, resources, and families that need assistance together. They build simple, decent and affordable housing for low income areas. Habitat also makes sure all new construction sites and homes are eco-friendly. They use sustainable building materials, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and energy-efficient appliances.

The project in Logan heights we worked on will become a home to eleven families in need. Each town home has three or four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two car garage. They are halfway done with this project and already have three families residing in the finished portion.

FortuneBuilders Gives was ecstatic that we could assist in bringing eleven families into their new home!
